Well, for most of us it is. As soon as December 1st rolls around, the Christmas decorations are up and the carols are singing. And honestly, the carols usually come out around the end of Halloween so the fact that I’m just now hearing carols is a holiday miracle!

As it is the December 1st, it seems that Benchy has decided that he wants to get in on the holiday cheer and has gone all out for it! When we checked on him yesterday, we thought we saw something interesting but it wasn’t until today we saw what it was that he decided to do for the Christmas holiday season as well as his last costume change of the year.

Granted, you can’t really see what Benchy has decided to do, this week’s costume being a bit darker than usual, so how about we take a look at him outside of the exhibit so you can see what’s going on?

As you can see, Benchy has gotten himself a reindeer (we’re assuming Rudolph as he’s the most famous of them all), a Christmas tree on the back, a Santa at atop his smokestack, a snowflake on his roof, and what looks to be a present between the back of the compartment and the tree. Quite a lot is going on but it seems that as this is the last costume change of the year, Benchy is going all out!

As for the other Benchys in their private beaches, there is no visible sign of colour or material leeching. We’re hopeful to find someone who can do some testing of the waters to see if there has been material leeching that is not discernible to the naked eye, but no dice so far. If we do find someone, I’ll be sure to let you.
